When switching suppliers of any of your corporate products, there might be dread or high anxiety. Whether you are changing Gold Coast uniform suppliers due to budget, service levels, uniform diversity or reliability, you want to make a change for the better. Here are tips on how to achieve this.

Technology Question

Your first question should be, “How can you make ordering these items (my life) easier?” Ask your supplier to explain how systems or technology will benefit you directly. Ascertain what technology they are using for order management, logistics tracking and operational efficiencies of your orders for uniforms on the Gold Coast. This affects customer service and reliability.  This is particularly important when ordering for large teams or staff spread across multiple offices/parts of the country.

Embellishment or Decoration Question

The follow-up question should be, “Do you have decoration services and what kinds are they?” Ask to see examples of who they currently work with. There can be a wide divide between ‘promotional’ quality and ‘retail’ quality of garments and decoration quality can vary depending on the equipment and expertise of the supplier.

Continuity Question

A continuity of supply question is very important, such as: “Are these styles likely to remain available for long?” Whilst there are no crystal balls, understanding if a product is already slated to be discontinued will impact your ability to get more uniforms in the future. What will the impact be on your brand look and budget? Do they hold stock of your uniforms once you sign up, and what is their lead time to delivery?

Ordering Ease

Find out how easy it is to place an order by asking: “Do you keep our details on file?” Do you have any systems (bespoke uniform range documents or ordering forms) available to us?

Styling Assistance

As you are most likely not a clothing designer, find out if they offer qualified styling assistance. “What image would your design team suggest for our new Gold Coast uniforms?” You can usually tell whether the advice is skilled or cut-and-paste.

Quality Levels

Quality relates to the cut, the fabric and construction. Ask, “Are there long-lasting fabrics and garments that are guaranteed to stand up to the usage within my business?” Also, find out whether there are special washing needs (a negative) and how many regular wash cycles the uniforms can survive.

Experience

A very helpful question to ask relates to the age of the business: “How many years have you been trading specifically in this line of work?”. Find out if they have growth plans, plans to sell or plans for a partnership that might affect your contract, e.g. a partnership may result in a narrowing of the style range and your uniform might be dropped.

Now you have set up a good basis of information to make a solid decision.
